West Ham to join battle to snap up Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo

* Centre-back out of contract at Craven Cottage in summer
* Liverpool, Tottenham and Milan linked with 26-year-old




West Ham plan to enter the race to sign Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer this summer. The centre-back is out of contract at the end of the season but Fulham hope to keep the 26-year-old, who has been linked with Liverpool, Tottenham and Milan.

The former Manchester City defender has had an impressive campaign and has become a key player for Marco Silva. West Ham have been leaky at the back, conceding 56 times in the league, and David Moyes has concerns over his options at centre-back. Nayef Aguerd, the Morocco international, is expected to be up for sale and Kurt Zouma, West Ham’s captain, has had fitness issues. Continue reading...

Manchester United confident on financial fair play despite £113m loss

* Club records revenues of £661.8m in year to 30 June * ‘Our clear objective is to return to the top,’ says Berrada Manchester United are confident they comply with Premier League and Uefa financial rules despite posting a £113.2m net loss in their latest accounts. It is the fifth consecutive year United have made an annual loss, with the club £115.5m in the red in 2021-22 and £42.1m in 2022-23. Profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) permit a £105m loss over a three-year period, but within the regulations certain deductions are allowed in relation to investment in infrastructure, the academy and women’s teams, among other things, which United believe means they will not fall foul of spending regulations. Horan’s header secures inaugural W Gold Cup title for USWNT over Brazil

* As it happened: USA 1-0 Brazil * Captain’s goal seals victory for Americans in San Diego Lindsey Horan scored with a header in first-half stoppage time and the United States beat Brazil 1-0 on Sunday to win the Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup. The United States lifted the trophy despite being stunned by a loss to Mexico in the group stage of the tournament. It was the first women’s Gold Cup, with the event created to bring teams in the region more meaningful competition. It was the fourth time that the United States have faced Brazil in a tournament final. The Americans won the previous three, including the 2004 and 2008 Olympics.
